Job summary

Southern States Cooperative, Inc. (SSC) is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support store operations at various SSC locations. Responsibilities include receiving and stocking merchandise, loading for customer orders, and maintaining showroom and warehouse safety.

The role requires forklift operation, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional outdoor tasks. Experience in retail or warehouse settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Requires one year of work experience in a warehouse environment or stocking in retail.
• Requires Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within given period.
• Licensing may vary by location (CDL and Propane Certification may be required).
• Ability to learn and operate forklift, front-end loader, pallet jack, skid loader and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive merchandise at facility warehouse and verify against purchase orders.
• Unload merchandise using equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) and inspect for damage.
• Stock shelves and arrange displays to maintain showroom appearance.
• Deliver merchandise to customer locations using SSC vehicles.
• Operate propane-related equipment following safety protocols and licensing requirements.
• Assist with physical inventory and maintain warehouse safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor entrances/exits to prevent loss and escalate security concerns.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
