Job summary

Country Store is hiring for a part-time Retail Associate to greet customers, assist with orders, stock shelves, and handle deliveries at multiple Washington locations. You will operate equipment, ensure safety, and maintain a friendly, efficient shopping experience.

The role emphasizes dependable attendance, strong customer service, and basic computer skills. Compensation is $17.50–$21.00 per hour with benefits after eligibility and a flexible weekend/evening schedule.

The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. Job Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
• Assist with customers’ orders by loading and unloading products as needed.
• Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.
• Assemble products and displays.
• Deliver products to customer delivery points.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.) and facilities.
• Dispense propane and kerosene.
• Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Safely and regularly operate a vehicle to make deliveries, visit various worksites, other businesses or customer locations.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license (or 18 years of age with a valid commercial driver’s license) to operate a commercial motor vehicle (10,001 lbs. GVWR). Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
• Be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Commitment to high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; walk, bend, stoop and kneel frequently
• Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds
• Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails
• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
• Professional appearance and demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail or warehouse setting
• Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies
• Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. 16 – 24 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

$17.50 – $21.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, part-time employees are eligible for:
