Job summary

Kelly Services in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Material Handler – Warehouse Associate able to unload, stock, and prepare orders in a fast-paced distribution center. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability, with a first shift schedule and a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with inventory control, scanning, packing, and loading shipments while following OSHA policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and familiarity with inventory systems.
• Strong reading, writing and basic math skills.
• Ability to learn company safety regulations and follow guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow instructions.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Unload materials, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks and inspect shipments.
• Stock and transfer materials to shelves, bins, racks, or pipe bundles according to predetermined sequences.
• Mark materials with correct identifying information and transfer materials for shop modifications as needed.
• Assemble and package customer orders for shipment, preparing documentation for UPS, LTL, SH, or Air shipments.
• Pull orders for delivery and stock transfers, loading onto trucks, or moving to packing areas using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other heavy equipment.
• Accurately scanning or entering inventory data into the inventory database system.
• Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and adhering to OSHA and customer safety policies.
• Performing other duties and projects as assigned to support warehouse operations
