Job summary

Accelera in Cary, IL is seeking a forklift operator for handling incoming shipments, storage, and outbound orders. The role requires operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts, maintaining safety, and supporting production by delivering materials to lamination and slitting stations.

The candidate should lift heavy loads, read and follow instructions in English, and work independently on a standard first shift. Training starts at 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sit-down or stand-up forklifts (1–2 years).
• Ability to lift 35–60 lb floor to shoulder and 10–35 lb overhead.
• Move 200–400 lb using manual equipment.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Accurate inventory using RF scanners.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Maintain a record of at least one to two years of safe forklift operation, specifically using sit-down or stand-up models.
• Demonstrate proficiency in transporting goods to shelving units reaching heights of five levels or more and retrieving items for machine delivery.
• Utilize RF scanners effectively to conduct accurate inventory assessments.
• Manage shipping and receiving tasks, including the loading and unloading of materials via forklift and the preparation of shipping documentation.
• Help maintain physical safety standards by lifting 35 to 60 pounds from floor to shoulder and 10 to 35 pounds overhead, as well as maneuvering 200 to 400 pounds using manual equipment.
• Apply precise measurement skills down to 1/16th of an inch and perform fundamental arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Demonstrate the ability to function reliably while working autonomously.
• Possess the necessary English language skills to read, write, and communicate effectively.

Compensation and Schedule

• Pay ranges from $19 to $20 per hour, commensurate with your professional background.
• Standard first shift hours are scheduled from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
• Initial training sessions are conducted from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

• Participate in regular inventory audits across all facility zones.
• Facilitate production floor operations by retrieving required materials from warehouse storage.
• Prepare outgoing orders for final shipment.
• Organize and store surplus materials efficiently.
• Contribute to the overall upkeep and cleanliness of all warehouse zones.
