Job summary

S&S Tire in Nashville, TN, is hiring a warehouse associate/backup driver. The role combines warehouse tasks and local deliveries, with a schedule Monday through Friday, 5:30a - 3:30p, and lifting tires up to 150 lbs.

You will load and unload tires, pack, count and palletize, operate equipment, perform pre-trip inspections, and provide customer service. Starting pay is $19 per hour, with pay dependent on experience and frequent overtime; comprehensive health benefits and a 401(k) with company

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and/or move tires with or without mechanical assistance.
• Frequent bending, twisting and lifting.
• Must have desire and ability to work in a warehouse environment.
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
• Good safety record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years).
• Valid driver's license - in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, check and tally tires to and from carriers.
• Select, pack, count, and palletize tires of customer orders per bin locator system.
• Check and verify accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting tires for orders.
• Operate order picker, pallet jacks and other equipment safely.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Complete driver and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Participate in cycle and/or annual inventories.

S&S Tire a leading multi-location regional wholesale tire dealer is seeking to add a warehouse associate/backup driver. This position requires manual labor, lifting tires up to 150 lbs.

Schedule: M-F 5:30a - 3:30p

Duties performed in this position include, but are not limited to:

Warehouse Receiver tasks

• Loads, unloads, checks and tallies tires to and from carriers [trailer trucks]
• Selects, packs, counts, marks, palletizes tires of customer orders and places in the assigned staging areas according to bin locator system.
• Checks and verifies accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting of tires for customer orders.
• May Operates order picker, pallet jacks, and other equipment in the execution of duties.
• Ensures safety guidelines are met in operating the equipment.
• Performs required counting, tallying and marking on related inventory control documents.
• Participates in cycle and/or annual physical inventories.
• Ensures safety guidelines are met by the proper palletizing, re-palletizing, and restacking of tires.
• Maintain compliance with procedures and policies

Driver Tasks

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
• Safely operate 16' to 28' box truck for delivery of products.
• Makes collections from customers for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis.
• Makes list of prospective customers along the designated route to supply the Store Manager with sales follow up information.
• Ensures good mechanical operation of vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections at the beginning of each work day and immediately report operating problems or mechanical defects to the Warehouse Manager or designee.
• Completes all driver and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested
