Job summary

Hood Distribution is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the Detroit, MI facility. You will pull orders, unload inbound freight, restock inventory, and maintain a safe warehouse environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of warehouse experience, forklift operation, familiarity with RF devices, and the ability to lift 50–100 lbs. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more. Applicants consent to a background check and drug screen; must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Job description

Hood Distribution is looking for a Warehouse Associate at the Detroit, MI facility. Hood Distribution is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber, plywood, moldings, and related wood products whose customers include cabinet shops, millwork houses, retail lumber yards, and similar businesses.

Warehouse Associates retrieve, restock, load, and unload material in the wood industry, including, but not limited to, particleboard, high-pressurelaminate, wood finishes and stains, solid surfaces, and other professional woodworking supplies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Proficiently pulling customer orders for next day delivery and customer pick-up.
• Effectively unloading inbound freight by either hand or forklift, verifying the dropped-off material, and entering items into the system.
• Restocking and verifying inventory in proper bin locations.
• Maintaining a healthy warehouse environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Proven warehouse experience (minimum 1 year)
• Prior experience and ability to operate a forklift (minimum 1 year)
• Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) device and computer tools
• Must be able to lift 50-100lbs
• Excellent Customer Service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Great interpersonal skills – a team player

• Great oral and written communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Must be able to adapt to change

Salary Range:

• $19.00 - $21.00
