Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc. is hiring production positions at its lumber mill in Silver Creek, MS. The roles are entry-level with opportunities for advancement and emphasize safe, efficient operation and teamwork.

Responsibilities include cleaning designated production areas, loading/unloading materials, monitoring equipment, and cross-training on machinery. Evening/nights/weekends and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly.
• Ability to understand, clearly communicate, and follow all safety rules and policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Observes all safety requirements, including PPE.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

• Clean designated areas in the production areas of lumber, bark and sawdust using hand and mechanical tools safely and efficiently.
• Load or unload materials and products from machines.
• Monitor machines to ensure continuous movement of lumber and materials in the mill.
• Cross-train on production equipment.
• Perform cleanup activities throughout the mill.
• Use hand tools for daily cleanup (air hoses, shovels, brooms, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We arehiring production positions at our lumber mill located in Silver Creek, MS. We are seekinghighperforming and motivated team players to join our team and grow with us. The positions are entry level positions that have opportunities for advancement.

The primary purpose of a production associate is being responsible for cleaning designated areas in the production areas of lumber, bark, and sawdust using a variety of hand and mechanical tools/equipment safely and efficiently, assuring smooth and efficient machinery operation as well as providing for a safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commitment to working safely and following safety rules/procedures, andenvironmental guidelines.
• Cross-trainon production equipment.
• Load or unload materials and productsfrommachines.
• Monitor machines to ensure continued movement of lumber and materials throughout the mill.
• Performcleanup activitiesthroughout the mill.
• Use an assortment of hand tools to complete daily clean-up duties such as air hoses, shovels, brooms, blower,wheel barrel,etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Highschool diploma/GED preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, grasping and standing for up to 12 hours per day.
• Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures and dusty and noisy conditions.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.

Pay Range - $17.17/per hour
