Job summary

Al-Furqaan Foundation in Bolingbrook, Illinois, is seeking a full-time team member to support customer service, sales, bookstore operations, and warehouse tasks. You will greet customers, process sales with the POS, arrange displays, and help fulfill orders.

Based in Bolingbrook, Illinois, Al-Furqaan Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with multiple business units working together to serve the American Muslim community and beyond through impactful programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet and assist customers in person, by phone, email, and online inquiries
• Recommend books and products based on customer needs
• Accurately process sales using the POS system and handle cash/card transactions
• Promote specials, discounts, and ongoing promotions

Bookstore Operations

• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays
• Monitor and replenish store supplies
• Support management in meeting sales and operational goals

Inventory, Warehouse & Shipping

• Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming shipments
• Conduct inventory checks, cycle counts, and report discrepancies
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Generate shipping documents and coordinate with carriers
• Load/unload shipments and operate warehouse equipment (training provided)
• Maintain organized warehouse storage and follow best packaging practices
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and use PPE as required
• Maintain cleanliness of bookstore and warehouse areas
• Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues promptly
• Clean driving record - We will provide training in driving trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail, customer service, or warehouse experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Basic computer and data entry skills; POS experience a plus
• Physical ability to lift and move inventory and work in varying environmental conditions
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays( occasionally).
• Operating warehouse equipment (e.g, forklifts, pallet jacks) is preferred. We offer free training.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Arabic or Urdu language skills are preferred but not necessary.
