Job summary

Steel & O’Brien Manufacturing is seeking a dependable Warehouse Associate to support receiving, shipping, and inventory in our distribution center.

You will handle materials safely and accurately from arrival to storage and shipment, using equipment after proper training, and contribute to cycle counts and accurate records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC.

Must be reliable with good attention to detail, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and work well both independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory, or material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to read and compare purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and pick lists.
• Basic computer and data entry skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar system preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to maintain a steady pace in a busy distribution center.
• Pallet jack or hand truck experience preferred; forklift experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload deliveries; check materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies, then label and put inventory away.
• Pick the correct parts and quantities for customer and production orders, pack orders, and prepare materials for shipment.
• Safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment after receiving the required training and authorization.
• Support palletizing, de-crating, and put-away activities.
• Record receipts and transfers in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory, and maintain accurate inventory locations and lot information.
• Notify the appropriate teams about shortages, damaged materials, and documentation or inventory discrepancies.
• Keep the distribution center clean and organized, and follow all safety procedures.
