Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Duration: 12+ Months with Possibilities of Extension

Pay rate: $32/hr on W2

Workdays: Monday-Thursday

Work hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

General Overview:

Performs work under direct supervision, including miscellaneous unskilled manual labor duties.

Assists skilled workers in accomplishing daily tasks and performs routine labor tasks, either alone or as part of a crew, using hand tools and less complex equipment (e.g. shovels, rakes, hoes, pliers, small power mowers, hammer, chain saws, pruners, etc.) for tasks such as fence building and repair, gate installations, digging, shoveling, lifting and carrying materials, picking up trash, and general cleaning and repair tasks.

Cleans and maintains equipment and tools in a safe operable condition, adhering to safety rules. Prepares equipment and materials for daily tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Zero or more years of experience in performing manual labor duties.

Driver’s license required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of construction and maintenance concepts and methods
• Knowledge of general cleaning and maintenance methods
• Skill in the use of handheld manual and power tools
• Skill in verbal and written communication
• Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions

Work Environment:

Work hours are spent in a substation and/or power plant environment, involving exposure to noise, various and sometimes extreme weather conditions, and close proximity to energized high-voltage electrical equipment. Work involves exposure to natural hazards such as fire ants, snakes, wasps, and other stinging insects and wildlife. Travel and lodging out of town may be required.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent finger/hand manipulation using hand tools and operating equipment
• Climbing, crawling, crouching, or other non-sitting positions in assistance to skilled craft employees
• Frequent standing and/or walking in performing assistance to skilled craft employees
• Occasionally lifts and carries up to 80 pounds
• Occasionally pushes or pulls up to 80 pounds
• Climbing of ladders in performing assistance to skilled craft employees less than 20% of the time
