Job description

Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for filling orders, preparing pallets for shipping, arranging pickups, and receiving freight. The role involves interacting with Manchester Tank customers and managing inventory and orders through the Manchester Tanks ERP and other IT systems. In limited capacity, the Warehouse Associate may operate the DC in the absence of the DC Manager with proper authorization.

This is a first shift position with a starting pay of $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure safe distribution center practices, including proper stacking, equipment operation (forklifts, stretch-wrap machines, dock levelers), and completing safety inspections.
2. Follow job procedures and environmental work instructions, including hazardous waste management.
3. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the distribution center, ensuring aisles are free of debris.
4. Process and maintain sales orders using the MANFACT computer system.
5. Determine shipment methods and load/unload trucks.
6. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and orders, including counting, weighing, and inspecting for damages.
7. Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
8. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
9. Provide prompt and courteous customer service via phone calls.
10. Receive and confirm RMAS.
11. Work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, customer-focused, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Safety-conscious and committed to implementing safety practices daily.
• Proven track record of customer satisfaction.
• Forklift certification is required; APICS CLTD certification is a plus.

The work environment is typically a warehouse with exposure to moving machinery, fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, chemicals, vibration, and noise. The noise level is generally moderate.

Physical requirements include frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, with occasional standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/moving up to 70 pounds.
