Job summary

Wilsonart, in Atlanta, currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant I. This person replenishes finished goods, fills customer orders, inspects materials and packs them for shipment in the assigned department/location. Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include receiving materials, checking against manifests, documenting discrepancies, and maintaining safety protocols. The role requires a HS diploma and 1+ year warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year warehouse experience.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (>50 lbs) regularly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials from manufacturing facilities and vendors.
• Check materials and place in correct bin; verify against manifest.
• Read, interpret, process, and pack customer orders.
• Photograph and report any damaged material; assist customers as needed.

Job Description

Position Overview: Warehouse Assistant I

Wilsonart, in Atlanta, currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant I. This person performs warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fills customer orders, inspects material and packs material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors
• Checks and places materials in the correct bin
• Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies
• Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials
• Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders
• Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders
• Performs total skid count for loads
• Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures
• Assists the needs of the customer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to learn computers sufficient to check inventories
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
• Ability to learn materials inventoried
• Ability to learn packing techniques

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years relevant warehouse experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS

ENVIRONMENT

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
