Job summary

Abbott Park, IL is seeking a Supervisor to lead Warehouse Operations, Investment Recovery, Moving Services, and Rigging Services within the GES division. This onsite role focuses on safe, efficient, and compliant operations, people leadership, and service delivery across multiple sites.

You will oversee inventory, asset disposition, and complex moves, while training staff and coordinating with contractors to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements including GMP, CAPA, FDA, and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance warehouse and satellite locations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution of materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities to ensure operational readiness.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of materials, equipment, and tools.
• Develop and maintain warehouse procedures that promote efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
• Oversee chargeable space management and optimization.
• Oversee surplus asset collection, redistribution, sale, recycling, or disposal.
• Maintain accurate records of asset transfers, disposals, and recoveries.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations regarding asset management and disposal.
• Collaborate with departments to facilitate effective utilization and recovery of organizational resources.
• Supervise movers for office relocations, furniture installations, event setups, equipment moves, and internal logistics support.
• Assist with planning and scheduling move requests to meet customer and organizational needs.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and transportation resources to ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Ensure proper handling and protection of furniture, equipment, and facilities during moves.
• Resolve operational challenges and provide customer service support during move-related activities.
• Oversee rigging activities involving the movement, placement, and installation of heavy equipment and machinery.
• Ensure all rigging operations are performed safely and in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with evaluating rigging plans, lifting methods, equipment requirements, and staffing needs for complex projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, and facility stakeholders during major equipment moves and installations.
• Supervise, coach, motivate and direct warehouse, mover, and rigging personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations and address employee performance concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within all assigned work groups.
• Facilitate employee training on safety practices, equipment operation, customer service, and departmental procedures.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and workforce planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, workplace safety regulations, and organizational policies.
