Job summary

Parker in Indiana is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler to safely operate equipment, complete paperwork, and maintain accurate inventories. The role involves reading digital scales, processing dock receipts, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

You will troubleshoot basic computer issues, train others, and help maintain 5S standards while working in a high-performance team environment. Safety and accuracy are essential to daily duties.

Qualifications

  • Operate mobile equipment for material handling in accordance with safety rules.
  • Certification and license to operate forklift and related equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for paperwork and record keeping.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Complete paperwork and computer transactions with attention to detail.
  • Read digital scales and record measurements accurately.
  • Troubleshoot basic computer issues when needed.
  • Schedule trucks and process dock receipts as required.
  • Maintain department Kanban board and inventory accuracy.
  • Assist training of other staff and follow Lean/5S practices.
  • Work with a high performance team and follow safety regulations.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and to identify if equipment is safe to operate.
  • Complete paperwork and computer transactions with attention to detail.
  • Operate and read digital scales.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer issues when the need arises.
  • Occasionally schedule trucks and process dock receipts.
  • Maintain Kanban board within the department.
  • Operate a skid wrapper machine.
  • Responsible for completing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventories.
  • Drive a stand‑up Raymond, tugger, order picker and operate a forklift truck, which may work at different heights.
  • Load and unload trucks by forklift or hand loader and keep required documentation.
  • Ability to train, instruct and assist other department employees, as needed.
  • Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions within recognized procedures.
  • Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance.
  • Ability to keep their work area clean and follow 5S standards.
  • Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT).
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities, and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.
  • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
  • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
  • Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and.
Qualifications
  • Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Complete certification and be issued a forklift and equipment license.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associates degree or working towards a degree.
