Job summary

Nor-Am Cold Storage is seeking a warehouse associate in Missouri to help with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. You will operate pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment, follow SOPs, and ensure product quality and allergen labeling while maintaining accurate paperwork.

You will participate in LEAN improvements and collaborate with operations to maintain safe, efficient workflows. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential to succeed here.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate pallet jack and basic warehouse equipment.
• Follows safety rules and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety by following all warehouse safety rules and looking out for co-workers.
• Participate in LEAN program to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure accuracy of loads received and shipped; complete inspection paperwork.
• Move goods using pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift.
• Quality control: ensure incoming/outgoing products meet specs and allergens identified.
• Report problems affecting food safety, quality, or safety to supervisor.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately.
• Communicate professionally with operators and administration.
• Understand FIFO/LIFO inventory tracking.
• Keep work area clean and organized; perform daily cleaning.
• Use Warehouse Management System and RF scanners; report scanner issues.
• Perform manual labor: hand-loading, stretch wrapping, sweeping, trash removal.
• Develop and maintain customer service for internal/external customers.
• Perform special projects as needed by manager.

Job description

General job description is as follows but is not limited to the following:

• Holds safety in high regard, follows all safety rules for equipment and general warehouse operations. Takes responsibility for their own safety by acting in a safe manner at all times. Takes responsibility for the safety of co-workers by calling out unsafe behavior on the spot.
• Actively participates in the LEAN management program, striving to continuously improve, increase efficiency and eliminate waste.
• Has received documented training in GMPs, Allergen Control, and SOPs within his/her area of responsibility.
• Ensures the accuracy of all loads received into warehouse and shipped out of warehouse, completes any required inspection paperwork thoroughly and at the time of receipt or shipment.
• Move finished goods through receiving, shipping and in warehouse inventory using pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensures that all incoming products and packaging meet specification. Ensures that all allergens are properly identified and labeled on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Reports problems within the area of responsibility that may impact Food Safety, Quality, or Employee Safety. Concerns should be reported directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and Food Safety/Quality Manager or designee.
• Complete necessary daily paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other operators and administration staff.
• Understand inventory control by FIFO/LIFO lot number format.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area. Cleans throughout the day.
• Be familiar with and accurately use the computer based Warehouse Management System. Uses required RF scanning equipment and notifies Supervisor of any issues with the scanning equipment.
• Perform various manual labor functions such as hand-loading containers, stretch wrapping, sweeping, cleaning, and trash removal.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Perform any special projects or other assignments as needed by the manager/supervisor.
