Job summary

Nor-Am Cold Storage is seeking an entry-level warehouse associate to support daily operations in a cold-storage facility. You will perform dock tasks, scan orders, wrap pallets, and assist with case picking and pallet building for customer orders.

Employees will have opportunities to advance training in pallet jacks, forklifts, and other specialty equipment as safety rules are followed.

Qualifications

• Entry level candidates are welcome.
• 2 years of warehouse experience with forklift operation may qualify for a higher start rate.
• HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work in a cold warehouse (-20F to 80F).
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic dock tasks such as scanning, wrapping pallets.
• Use material handling equipment to load and unload trailers.
• Perform start and end of shift tasks including sweeping and cleaning in the warehouse.
• Some manual material handling may be required.
• Case picking and building pallets as required by customers.

Opportunities to advance

Employees who have good attendance and performance and who follow all safety rules will be trained to operate pallet jacks, forklifts and high reach forklifts along with other specialty warehouse equipment.

Preferred Experience and Education

• Our warehouse is cold. You must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures from -20F to 80F. You must be able to walk or stand for the entire 8 hour shift and to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
