Job summary

Miller Industries, Inc. seeks qualified warehouse personnel to verify shipments, handle materials, and support production schedules at our Hermitage facility.

The role emphasizes accuracy in inventory, safe handling of goods, and efficient movement of materials across staging areas. The position offers a climate controlled environment, a 4 days on/4 days off cycle, bonus eligibility tied to performance, regular evaluations, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for professional development,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination.
  • 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Intermediate data entry skills; knowledge of LN and Microsoft Works.

Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming/outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
  • Unpack, inspect, and handle damaged items; communicate with shippers to resolve issues.
  • Move materials within the facility and stage at production stations.
  • Record material movements using inventory systems and logs.
  • Operate and maintain material handling equipment; perform basic inspections.

Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Move raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility
  • Stage materials at workstations to support production schedules
  • Accurately record material movements using inventory systems, scanners, or manual logs
  • Perform material counts and assist with cycle counts or physical inventories
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages to leadership
  • Organize and maintain designated storage areas, racks, and staging zones
  • Keep work areas clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards
  • Dispose of scrap, waste, and recycling materials per company standards
  • Follow all safety rules, OSHA regulations, and plant procedures
  • Properly operate powered and non‑powered material handling equipment
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections before use
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Computer proficient
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have intermediate data entry skills. Must know LN and Microsoft Works

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of LN and Logistics software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to pass forklift written and driving test.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to work four 12-hour days, occasionally working up to 5 days/week as business demands.
  • Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
  • Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as: precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
  • Crawl under trucks
