Job summary

Rio Grande Co. is seeking a non-supervisory warehouse associate for the afternoon shift in Denver, CO. You will load “will call” customers and unload steel, rebar, and other construction materials, while supporting various warehouse duties and maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities include receiving and loading shipments, moving items with a forklift, assisting customers, and reporting shortages or damaged goods. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
• 1 year of forklift experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for the loading of “will call” customers and the loading/unloading of steel, rebar, and other construction materials for Rio Grande Co. You will support a variety of warehouse duties while maintaining a safe working environment. This non‑supervisory position reports to the Operations Manager and is scheduled for the afternoon shift, beginning at 12 p.m. and concluding when loading is complete between 10‑12 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and load shipments, verifying accuracy of materials
• Move parts and materials using a forklift and by hand
• Assist customers, load delivery trucks, and stock materials
• Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
• Report shortages, overages, or damaged materials to the leadership team
• Work cooperatively with teammates to meet warehouse and parts goals
• Perform any other duties assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year experience driving a forklift (preferred)
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Must work outdoors with exposure to weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow, and dust

Physical Demands

• Frequent forklift operation
• Stand, walk, bend, lift, and climb on/off semi‑truck beds
• Frequent exposure to fumes (diesel, propane, paint)
• Must lift, bend, stop, and kneel as required
