Job summary

Rio Grande Co. in Colorado Springs seeks a delivery driver to ensure safe, efficient material delivery to customers and backhauls to our facility, with training to assist window installations.

Operate company vehicles, perform pre/post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and provide excellent customer service while complying with DOT regulations and safety policies. The role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and accurate records with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year of driving experience with pre-trip vehicle knowledge.
• Box truck or flatbed experience preferred.
• Able to work alone with common hand tools.
• Able to self-solve issues installing windows.
• Must pass background and drug testing as required by DOT/state regulations.
• Must hold non-commercial Class R driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles on public streets and highways.
• Open/close facility gates, read and follow shipping documents.
• Maintain accurate logs and follow Dispatcher instructions.
• May assist with loading or secure loads using approved methods.
• Perform Pre and Post Trip Inspections of delivery equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Identify and report safety, discrepancy and efficiency concerns.
• Follow detailed shipping documents, bills of lading and report deviations to manager.
• Facilitate window installations.
• All other duties assigned.

Position Summary

Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of materials to the customer base and the backhauling of materials to the facility. This position will also be trained to facilitate window installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Drivers operate company owned vehicles on public streets and highways.
• Opening and closing facility gates, reading and following shipping documents
• Maintaining accurate logs and following instructions from the Dispatcher.
• Drivers may or may not participate in the loading of materials but are responsible for securing the load using approved devices and methods.
• Perform Pre and Post Trip Inspections of delivery equipment
• Provide excellent customer service to customers during delivery and pickup operations
• Identify and report safety, discrepancy and efficiency concerns
• Follow detailed shipping documents, bills of lading and report any deviations to manager
• Facilitate window installations
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 21 or older.
• 1 year experience driving for a company with pre‑trip vehicle knowledge.
• Box truck or flatbed experience preferred.
• Must have ability to work alone with common hand tools.
• Can self‑problem solve situations installing windows.
• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations
• Must hold required non‑commercial Class R driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated

• Mostly outdoor position, subject to weather–Frequent Physical Demands
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 100lbs
• Ability to work in changing weather conditions
