Job summary

Center Point Health & Rehab in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Ward Clerk to support clinical units with administrative tasks and front-desk duties. An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) makes you an employee-owner and shares in company success.

The shift is 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have long-term care exposure, strong communication skills, and reliable transportation to support patient care and coordination with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care with medical terminology and call systems.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative, clerical and support services to the clinical unit.
• Support medical and nursing staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Maintain secure patient records in compliance with regulations.
• Greet visitors and direct them to patient rooms.
• Perform receptionist duties.

Duties

• Provides general administrative, clerical and support services to the clinical unit assigned
• Ensures optimal and safe patient care by supporting medical and nursing staff
• Keeps medical records and all patient care related documents secured and in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Greet visitors and direct them to patient rooms
• Performs receptionist duties

Requirements

• Must have long-term care experience with knowledge in the following areas: medical terminology, multi-line phones, call light system, filing, ICD-10 knowledge and good phone etiquette
• Have dependable transportation, driver’s license and car insurance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
