Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks an experienced Walk-in Sandblast/Shotblast operator to clean and prepare large castings in a walk-in cabinet. You will handle blasting with hand-held nozzles, verify part IDs, and load/unload castings using hoists or manual methods.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, conducting visual inspections for uniform finish, and ensuring adherence to safety rules. Training is provided on the job and PPE requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Cleaning and blasting skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of all Sandblaster and Shotblaster duties are preferred
• Equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow instructions and read Technique Cards or routers
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Verifies lot, part identification and operation number.
• Loads castings into walk-in cabinet manually or with hoist.
• Masks tooling points as needed.
• Sand or shot blasts parts in cabinet by directing hand-held nozzles.
• Removes all sand or shot out of part cavities to assure clean parts for chemical milling or subsequent operations.
• Visually inspects blasted parts to verify removal of materials and uniform color.
• Removes castings from walk-in cabinet and places on pallets.
• Modifies shotblast pipe as necessary.
• Manually pushes sand into grate to circulate.
