WAITER/WAITRESS (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time WAITER/WAITRESS positions at Connecticut College, located at 270 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT 06320. Online applications are accepted only.

Requirement: Prior food and beverage experience is preferred.

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Take food and beverage orders and deliver items efficiently to dining room guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and promptly; take food and beverage orders following established service steps.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safety and sanitation standards; assist with additional needs.
• Understand menu items and ingredients; advise guests on food and drink pairings; accommodate dietary requests and allergies.
• Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special requests.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills; remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
• Handle tickets and cash following proper procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Respect confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
• Address complaints promptly; relay issues to supervisors.
• Set up and clean the dining area before and after service, meeting sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, and coffee machines.
• Collaborate with other departments during special events.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
