An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join their dynamic surgical team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the sterile field is maintained and the surgical team’s needs are anticipated. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to gathering needed supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures according to the surgeon preference card. Maintains the sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Is constantly vigilant to the adherence of aseptic technique by all team members. Is a mentor and go to person for other staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduated froman CAHEEP or ABHES accredited by CAHEEP/AHEBS OR NCCT Approved program.
Experience: Three years of experience required.
Licensure: BLS required. Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting). Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting heavy instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull >50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
