Qualifications

• Two years of full-time (or equivalent) experience in inspection or investigatory work, or enforcement of wage/hour laws
• Massachusetts Class D driver's license required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree can substitute for part of experience
• Professional/technical labor standards experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge of construction and building trades and immigrant communities preferred
• Proficiency with computer-based law enforcement systems
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow instructions
• Ability to work independently and in a team under deadlines

Responsibilities

• Review and investigate violations of labor standards under Massachusetts law
• Conduct wage complaint interview
• Write reports and respond to inquiries
• Conduct site visits
• Testify at hearings and grand jury
• Support enforcement of wage/hour/child labor laws
• Conduct payroll audits and analyze financial records
• Communicate with the public via phone and virtual platforms
