Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain web application firewalls across client environments, leveraging Cloudflare and Imperva to protect applications. You will monitor traffic, analyze security events, respond to incidents, and automate deployments with Terraform, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in web application security operations focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Strong understanding of web app protocols, security principles, and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to protect client web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents, perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments to ensure compliance.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and technologies to improve security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions including Cloudflare and Imperva for deployment and management.
• Leverage Terraform to automate deployment and management of WAF infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on WAF management and incident response.
