Powys County Council in Newtown is seeking a Waste & Recycling Foreman to lead essential frontline operations and improve recycling performance. You will supervise staff, drive compliance, and participate in safety and toolbox discussions to maintain high standards of service for local residents.
Applicants must hold an HGV Class 2 licence, be a reliable team player, and actively promote recycling and health & safety best practices in a field-based role.

About you:
You must hold at least an HGV Class 2 Driving Licence.
You must take pride in your work, be reliable, and willing to work as part
of a team to get the job done.
Undertake risk assessments as necessary.
Flexible, positive, approachable and committed to making a difference to
the local community we live in as the first point of contact for the service.
Ensure that all drivers carry out the necessary legislative requirements for driver activities & compliance.
Deliver work specific job chats or tool-box talks to the operational team.
What you will do:
Work with other staff in the Waste Recycling service to undertake and
assist in the promotion of recycling and enforcement duties.
Adhere to and apply the principals of the Council's Health & Safety policy
across all staff.
To complete monitoring of staff in a working environment; address health and safety policies and arrangements in a pro-active manner to ensure that a high standard of safe working practices is maintained.
Report any problems to Supervisors so that residents receive a quality
service.
Other activities such as monitoring materials at the transfer station,
driving a variety of vehicles & collection activities.
There is no DBS Check requirement for this position
