The Florida Department of Children and Families seeks an Adult Protective Investigator to examine allegations of abuse, neglect, self-neglect and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults. You will protect safety, act quickly, and coordinate with healthcare and social services to arrange supports.

Responsibilities include assessing safety within 24 hours, coordinating emergency services, interviewing witnesses, gathering records, and collaborating with law enforcement and prosecutors.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED with four years of law enforcement or military service
• Associate degree or 60+ credit hours with two years of professional experience or two years of law enforcement or military service
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Official transcripts or copy of diploma must be provided within 30 days of hire
• Valid driver's license and operating private vehicle for daily work activities
• Must attend 6-8 week mandatory training

Responsabilités

• Investigate abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults
• Assess safety and mental capacity within 24 hours of report
• Coordinate emergency services, temporary placement, and court intervention as needed
• Gather information via interviews, observations, and records
• Coordinate with state agencies, law enforcement, and prosecutors
• Connect vulnerable adults with community resources and wrap-around services
• Build relationships with community organizations and service providers
• Participate in Career Ladder program for salary growth after one year
