Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking an Adult Protective Investigator to protect vulnerable adults by investigating abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The role involves rapid in-person safety assessments, coordination with emergency services, and collaboration with state agencies and law enforcement to ensure safety and appropriate services.

Responsibilities include interviewing, collecting evidence, and leveraging community resources to prevent reoccurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or high school diploma with related experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate abuse, neglect, self-neglect and financial exploitation of vulnerable adults.
• Coordinate with agencies and law enforcement to protect adults.
• Meet the vulnerable adult within 24 hours of report to assess safety and capacity.
• Coordinate emergency services, temporary placement, and court intervention as needed.
• Gather information via interviews, observations, and records; conduct risk assessments.
