This course prepares the EMT or AEMT for a successful transition to paramedic-level practice through a flipped-classroom model with intensive laboratory days each week. Emergency Medical Technician level skills are verified, and the student is expected to expand upon prior knowledge to develop paramedic-level knowledge of foundational concepts, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, assessment of ill and injured people across the lifespan, medication administration, and pharmacology. The student will advance their knowledge and skills related to the assessment and interdisciplinary management of conditions related to airway management, respiratory problems, and trauma. Clinical and field experiences in the first semester focus on developing these foundational skills and learning about the role of the paramedic. **Minimum Qualifications**: Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 2 to 4 years of experience in the paramedic field or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
