Job summary

Vermont State University School of Nursing & Health Sciences invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position for Fall 2026 (August 24 – December 18, 2026) for EMS‑2010 Lab – Principles & Practices of Paramedicine I Lab. The course prepares EMT/AEMT for paramedic-level practice with a flipped classroom model and intensive lab days each week.

The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree preferred or 2–4 years in the paramedic field, Vermont licensure, and AHA instructor status for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 2 to 4 years of experience in the paramedic field or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • A Vermont Paramedic License or Vermont Registered Nurse License with EMS experience is required.
  • Knowledge of course content being delivered.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and flexible decision‑making capabilities.
  • AHA instructor status required for ACLS and PALS courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach EMS-2010 Lab – Principles & Practices of Paramedicine I Lab in Fall 2026.
  • Deliver instruction using a flipped-classroom model with intensive laboratory days.
  • Support student learning and assessment across didactic and field components.
