Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions (KDS) is seeking an experienced AV/VTC Engineer to support USDA AV/VTC systems. You will design and maintain complex conference rooms, administrate Cisco and Crestron/AMX environments, and provide Tier 2/3 support to APHIS and AMS customers.

Travel to domestic offices and onsite collaboration will be required; strong documentation and ticketing skills are essential for maintaining uptime and service levels.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in AV engineering or VTC support.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco AV/VTC systems, including desktop and complex room systems.
• Working knowledge of Crestron and AMX control systems.
• Experience with Cisco Meeting Server and Cisco Telepresence VCS.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SynergySky, Polycom, and OWL technologies.
• Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in fully integrated AV environments.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.

Koniag Data Solutions is looking for an experienced AV/VTC Engineer to support Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems for the USDA customer. This role is responsible for engineering, operating, and maintaining complex AV systems that keep remote teams connected and productive.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Design complex AV systems and conference rooms to meet customer needs
• Produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation
• Recommend and integrate new and emerging AV technologies
• Analyze enterprise systems to ensure 99.9% uptime and maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all systems and data

System Administration & Maintenance

• Program and manage Crestron and AMX control panels in all AV rooms
• Administer and maintain Cisco Meeting Server and Cisco Telepresence Video Communications Server (VCS)
• Support the convergence of Cisco VoIP and Cisco AV technologies
• Perform preventive maintenance on all custom AV room systems

Operational Support

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for all APHIS and AMS AV customers
• Monitor and respond to AV tickets in ServiceNow, ensuring all SLAs are met
• Process customer AV requests submitted through the ServiceNow AV Support Request form
• Troubleshoot issues in fully integrated conference rooms
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 4 AV Engineers when needed
• Monitor AV uptime and availability using platforms such as Cisco TMS

On-Site & Project Support

• Provide in-person support for high-level meetings using supported AV systems
• Supervise and provide technical oversight for AV room installation teams
• Install small desktop or cart AV systems and coordinate network configuration with AV engineers
• Manage large-scale conference calls hosted on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms
• Travel to remote domestic offices for VTC room installs, site surveys, or on-site troubleshooting

Customer Service & Training

• Interface directly with customers to gather information on AV issues
• Review trouble symptoms and perform steps to restore systems to normal operations
• Provide training and support to Tier 2/3 AV Operations Engineers

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in AV engineering or VTC support
• Hands-on experience with Cisco AV/VTC systems, including desktop and complex room systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management experience overseeing AV installations
• Knowledge of Cisco TMS for monitoring AV uptime
• Relevant certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), Cisco certifications, or Crestron/AMX programming credentials

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• On-site presence required 3-4 days per week at either:
• Fort Collins, CO – USDA APHIS, 2150 Centre Ave., Building B, 80526
• Beltsville, MD – USDA APHIS, 5601 Sunnyside Ave., 20705
• Domestic travel required to support remote office installs, site surveys, and troubleshooting
• Ability to lift and handle AV equipment as needed
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or able to verify eligibility to work in the United States
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an OPM Public Trust T2S clearance
• Must complete a National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) background investigation
• Must complete annual Security Awareness Training (SAT)
