Job summary

Tenneco Inc. is seeking a Setup Operator to run valve seat insert presses, adjust tooling, monitor temperatures and cycle times, and ensure product quality.

You will read production schedules, perform first piece inspections, and assist with equipment maintenance in a heavy manufacturing setting. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience or training, with strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; at least 1 year related experience or training.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality product by operating and adjusting presses.
• Read routers and schedules for product specs and records.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental policies are followed.
• Monitor presses for proper settings, speeds, temperatures and cycle times.
• Load/unload materials and assist operators as needed.
• Perform first piece inspections and maintain equipment safety.
