Job summary

Insight Recruitment partners with a leading humanoid robotics company in San Francisco to hire a VR Teleoperations Engineer. You will design software enabling human operators to remotely control humanoid robots through immersive interfaces, translating intent into precise robot actions.

You will collaborate across software, hardware and robotics teams on real-time control, latency management and safe operation, with hands-on engineering and rigorous testing in both simulation and hardware.

Qualifications

• Strong robotics fundamentals in kinematics, transforms and sensing.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time systems.
• Experience with teleoperation, VR/AR interfaces or human-robot interaction.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 and real-time data streaming.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time teleoperation software for remote control of humanoid robots.
• Integrate VR/AR interfaces and motion tracking to translate movements into actions.
• Build control pipelines delivering precise, stable robot movements with low latency.
• Integrate teleoperation with robot control systems, sensors and communication infrastructure.
• Implement safety mechanisms, fault handling and recovery features.
• Test and optimize across simulation and hardware to improve responsiveness.
