Job summary

Weave Robotics in San Francisco is seeking a teleoperation and HCI specialist to own the operator interface and end-to-end control of our robot systems. You will work with mechanical, robotics, and software teams to ensure operators can control dexterous robots over networks with minimal latency.

Responsibilities include building the operator UI, integrating input devices, and advancing shared autonomy. This role blends research with production-ready software and real-world impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in teleoperation, haptics, or closely allied control research.
• Demonstrated ability to build operator-facing 3D interfaces or VR tools.
• Strong understanding of delay, passivity, and stable control in interactive systems.

Responsibilities

• Build the operator's visual interface with stereo video rendering and state overlays.
• Own the input layer by integrating headsets, controllers, and leader devices.
• Drive retargeting to map operator motion to robot motion within hardware limits.
• Hide latency via prediction, local simulation, and interpolation.
• Build shared autonomy to blend operator input with autonomous assistance.
• Spec the operator station including input rigs and displays for long sessions.
• Ship the system and support rapid iteration with real-world impact.
