Job summary

Bloom Academy Preschool is seeking a Lead VPK Teacher to prepare four- and five-year-olds for kindergarten under Florida's VPK framework. Join a collaborative team across our Southwest Florida locations, implementing standards-aligned curriculum and engaging, purposeful play.

You will design engaging lesson plans, track student progress, and communicate with families about readiness milestones while upholding health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• DCF 45 Hours completed.
• CDA Credential completed.
• Experience: minimum 1 year in licensed preschool/childcare (required).
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom-management skills.

Role Description Are you an experienced early childhood educator passionate about kindergarten readiness and helping young minds flourish? Join Bloom Academy as our Lead VPK Teacher! In this role, you will prepare four- and five-year-olds for kindergarten through Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) framework, combining purposeful play with standard-aligned early learning curriculums in a supportive, collaborative environment across our school locations.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate VPK curriculum and assessments designed to meet Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards.
• Design engaging daily lesson plans that foster early literacy, math, motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
• Provide a safe, structured, nurturing classroom atmosphere that inspires curiosity and positive behavior.
• Track individual student progress, maintain portfolio assessments, and communicate regularly with families regarding kindergarten readiness milestones.
• Maintain open, professional communication with fellow teachers, administrative leadership, and state/licensing specialists.
• Uphold DCF standards, state VPK attendance guidelines, and classroom health, safety, and sanitization protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

• DCF 45 Hours: Completed (Required)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential: Completed (Required)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting (Required; previous VPK classroom experience preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to pass Florida Department of Children and Families Level 2 background screening.
