Job summary

Deutsche Bank is seeking a Workout Credit Officer – Vice President to lead risk management for underperforming clients in the Lending franchise. You will analyze complex distressed transactions, oversee a diversified portfolio and guide junior officers on regulatory adherence.

This role requires collaboration with risk, legal, and deal teams and active participation in audits. The position is based in New York with a hybrid work model and a salary range reflecting market norms for senior risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Moderate experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or related financial roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of loan origination and workout processes.
• Experience in commercial real estate or distressed assets is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a diversified portfolio of distressed assets, focusing on CRE, high-yield structures and leveraged loans; conduct detailed credit evaluations and monitor borrower financials.
• Design and implement strategies to mitigate risk and maximize recovery, including debt restructuring, insolvency proceedings and Chapter 11 exits.
• Support internal and external audits, ensure policy adherence, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with risk management, legal, and deal teams to execute workout plans and present findings to senior management.
• Guide junior credit officers on workflows, policy compliance and regulatory changes.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on portfolio performance and risk exposure.
