Job summary

State Street is seeking a VP, Workday HCM Senior Solution Consultant to design and build Workday solutions. You will lead configuration across core HCM areas, assess trade‑offs, and collaborate with Security and Data Management to ensure secure data loads and migrations.

You will mentor teammates, evaluate biannual Workday releases, and present design options to COE leaders and HR business partners, driving strong, scalable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of hands‑on Workday configuration experience with ownership of design and configuration.
• Deep, hands‑on configuration in at least one module (Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Performance, Talent, Prism Analytics, or Severance).
• Ability to translate ambiguous business asks into Workday design and drive implementations.
• Experience in live production tenants, including security/EIB/data load concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with COE stakeholders to understand the real problem before proposing a design.
• Own solution design: business process configuration, calculated fields, condition rules, reports, and integrations.
• Configure Workday in a build role, not a hand‑off; document decisions audibly for transfer.
• Collaborate with Security and Data Management on data loads, security changes, and migrations.
• Evaluate trade‑offs between out‑of‑the‑box features and custom workarounds; recommend options.
• Assess cross‑module impacts of changes and inform stakeholders accordingly.
• Support release management by evaluating Workday biannual releases for impact.
• Provide architectural input on HR technology initiatives and build vs buy decisions.
• Mentor junior team members on configuration best practices.
