Job summary

Guggenheim Investments in Chicago seeks a senior‑level Web Developer to own the intranet and extranet web stack, ensuring stability, security, performance, and continuous evolution across presentation, application, and integration layers.

You will debug sites, implement enhancements, and develop new modules while leading large projects from intake through release and mentoring junior engineers. Collaboration with Design, Content, and Product teams is essential, with optional remote work.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of experience building and optimizing large web applications in React or similar frameworks and integration with content management platforms like Wordpress.
• Proven track record improving real‑user performance metrics at scale, from page load to post‑load interactivity.
• Strong in modern bundling and build tooling such as Webpack and performance profiling.
• Experienced with Azure and devops deployments
• Strong systems thinking and ability to design paved‑road abstractions, guardrails, and tooling for many teams.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across platform and product teams, with a bias toward iterative, measurable impact.
• You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert, senior‑level independent contributor with advanced expertise across the full web stack—presentation, application, and integration layers.
• Maintain, enhance, and extend the firm’s intranet and extranet properties, ensuring stability, performance, security, and feature delivery.
• Develop and support web applications delivering essential digital touchpoints for clients, prospects, and employees, including debugging and creating new modules.
• Take ownership of large, complex projects from intake through release and mentor junior engineers on routine tasks.
