Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in New York seeks a VP, Valuations to lead and scale its centralized valuation function, collaborating with senior leadership to enhance methodologies across asset classes.

You will oversee quarterly models, validate new instruments, and drive automation with Risk, IT, and Finance, ensuring accurate P&L attribution and robust audit trails.

This role involves interaction with external auditors and a top-tier global asset management platform.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the Head of Valuations to oversee day-to-day operations and strategic framework execution.
• Direct the compilation of quarterly mark-to-market models and detailed portfolio performance metrics across various strategies.
• Conduct comprehensive model validation and stress-testing for newly introduced financial models.
• Partner with cross-functional groups—including Risk, IT, and Finance—to align on mark-to-market methodologies, valuation frameworks, and P&L attribution.
• Oversee key market inputs (such as yield curves, credit spreads, and volatility matrices) to ensure strict adherence to internal valuation policies.
• Liaise with the Technology team to integrate system workflows for new instrument types and drive process automation initiatives.
• Execute price verification procedures by benchmarking internal valuations against counterparty data and external market pricing providers.
• Maintain rigorous valuation documentation and audit trails to support fund accounting and investment accuracy.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external audit teams and independent third‑party valuation firms during quarterly review cycles.
