Job summary
Morningstar DBRS in New York is seeking a Vice President-level ratings analyst to support the U.S. ABS platform within the Global Structured Finance team.
You will lead analytical work to assign and monitor ratings for ABS transactions across equipment loans, data centers, franchise/whole business securitizations, and other asset classes. You will mentor junior analysts, discuss rating approaches with issuers and investors, review legal documents, and coordinate with cash flow modeling for
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, math, economics, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in structured finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office programs.
- Robust understanding of credit and legal aspects of structured finance transactions in the asset-backed area.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-starter and team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personable, eager to learn, organized and deadline-driven.
Responsibilities
- Act as a lead rating analyst with minimal supervision or support a deal team on ABS transactions and present analysis to rating committee.
- Discuss rating approaches and analytical considerations with bankers, issuers and investors.
- Analyze historical performance data and collateral characteristics or supervise junior analysts.
- Prepare and present new transactions to senior analysts to determine feasibility and methodology.
- Review legal documents and address pertinent legal points with issuers and counsel.
- Coordinate with cash flow modeling team to run stress scenarios for rating analysis.
- Prepare materials for rating committee review and present analytical conclusions.
- Write research and participate in webinars and issuer, banker and investor meetings.
- Coordinate with other teams to support credit rating analysis, research and administration.
- Adhere to procedures and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior analysts.
