Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced transportation planning leader based in Baltimore, MD to guide the Mid-Atlantic Planning team. You will oversee project delivery, regulatory compliance, and multi-disciplinary collaboration to address complex planning challenges.

This role requires 12+ years in transportation planning, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and client engagements while advancing WSP’s strategic growth in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in transportation planning in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of zoning laws, permitting, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive leadership for the planning discipline and function to ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Oversee use of maps, GPS data, and visualization tools to identify project location sensitivities and impacts.
• Lead large, complex transportation planning projects with budgets, hours, and expenses tracked for profitability.
• Manage multi-disciplinary project teams through siting, impact assessment, and permitting phases.
• Foster compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and client requirements.
• Contribute to business strategy, growth, and pipeline development for Transportation Planning in the region.
• Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings.
