Job summary

Seismic Therapeutic is a clinical-stage biotechnology company in the Boston area seeking a Senior Director/Vice President, Translational Medicine to own translational medicine across its portfolio of clinical and preclinical immunology programs. You will connect mechanism to patients, lead biomarker strategy, and drive regulatory interactions from IND/CTA through first-in-human decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD/PhD in immunology with deep immunology knowledge.
• 12+ years of drug development experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Track record across preclinical to clinical POC, including IND/CTA contributions.
• Hands-on with multimodal data generation and interpretation.
• Experience designing biomarker and PK/PD strategies for early-phase studies.
• Proven ability to engage with disease experts, academia and KOLs.
• Regulatory experience for biomarkers and health authority interactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and own integrated translational medicine and biomarker strategies for each Seismic program.
• Shape preclinical pharmacology, ex vivo models, and PK/PD packages for IND-enabling and FIH studies.
• Design biomarker strategies and sampling schedules; lead regulatory document content.
• Direct generation and interpretation of multimodal data across preclinical and clinical settings.
• Build networks with disease experts and collaborators; coordinate scientific input.
• Analyze and interpret translational and biomarker data with Biometrics and Data Science.
• Inform indication selection, patient stratification, and endpoint strategy.
• Provide translational assessment for external opportunities in BD and due diligence.
• Provide functional leadership across teams and establish translational standards.
