Job summary

Cogent Biosciences in Waltham, MA seeks an Associate Director, Translational Medicine to drive biomarkers across discovery and clinical programs. You will lead biomarker strategies, oversee assay development, and guide regulatory support, collaborating with translational, clinical, and discovery teams.

The role requires a PhD and 5+ years in biopharma biomarker programs, with vendor management and data interpretation experience.

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years in biopharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in clinical biomarker study execution including vendor management.
• Knowledge of FDA/EMA/ICH/GCP-GLP guidelines for biomarker assays.
• Experience with IHC, NGS, flow cytometry, PCR, tumor tissues, and liquid biopsies.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Spotfire or R.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of biomarker and diagnostic strategies for clinical programs.
• Identify and utilize biomarkers to predict drug efficacy and biological activity.
• Oversee biomarker use in clinical studies; write protocols and train sites/CROs.
• Analyze, interpret and report biomarker results for regulatory filings/publications.
• Direct development and validation of clinically applicable biomarker assays.
• Serve as key contact with biomarker vendors.
• Collaborate with Research to identify biomarkers and analyze data for mechanism understanding.
