Job summary

SMBC is seeking a Vice President, Operational Resilience Third-Party in Charlotte, NC. This role strengthens the Firm's resilience framework by overseeing critical third-party providers and resilience-related risk management across the vendor lifecycle.

The OR Third-Party VP partners with TPRM, IT, Cybersecurity, and business owners to assess, mitigate, and manage vendor risks, with a focus on governance, testing, and regulatory compliance. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large, complex, multi-team initiatives.
• Familiarity with the four pillars of operational resilience: business, technology, third-party, cyber resilience.
• Knowledge of payments, loans, trading and settlement life cycles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Owners to create contingency plans and advise on exit strategies for critical vendors.
• Support understanding of third-party relationships, services, recoverability, and alignment to Important Business Service.
• Lead end-to-end Operational Resilience Third-Party Risk Assessments across the lifecycle: planning, due diligence, contracting, monitoring, termination.
• Maintain the risk acceptance and control inventory: risk ratings, control statuses, due dates, remediation ownership.
• Improve program components: governance, scenario development, testing, crisis management.
• Track remediation actions from contingency plan testing to closure; escalate overdue issues.
• Promote a culture of resilience across the Americas Division and align risk processes with resilience framework.
