Job summary

New York Life seeks an experienced leader to serve as Head of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) in a hybrid work setting. You will lead a team, shape the enterprise TPRM program, and provide risk insights to senior leadership across risk, procurement, IT, and compliance.

You’ll drive governance, regulatory alignment (NAIC, OCC, NYDFS), and oversight of vendor risk, with a focus on cybersecurity, financial stability, resilience, and incident response.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in TPRM, operational or vendor risk within large financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of frameworks and regulatory expectations (NAIC, OCC, NYDFS, FFIEC).
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and regulators.
• Experience leading Second and 1.5 Line oversight with interaction with executives.
• Bachelor’s degree; certifications such as CTPRP or CISSP.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: develop and oversee enterprise-wide TPRM program.
• Governance & Oversight: lead policy, risk framework enhancements and assessments.
• Committee Leadership: chair TPAG and guide risk decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with Procurement, InfoSec, Legal, Compliance.
• Regulatory & Compliance: stay ahead of NAIC, OCC, NYDFS regulatory changes.
• Risk Identification & Mitigation: supervise due diligence and monitoring of vendors.
• Reporting & Metrics: provide executive risk posture reporting to leadership and board.
• People Leadership: manage and develop the TPRM team.
• Crisis & Incident Response: collaborate with Crisis Management and Business Continuity.
