FinOps Weekly seeks a senior finance leader in Atlanta to partner with the CIO and finance leadership. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, and cloud economics for a global IT portfolio, delivering clear business value and governance.

You will influence executive stakeholders, oversee IT cost management, and lead key reporting to the board. The role requires deep experience in finance and technology and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Technology/Engineering.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance and/or technology experience.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role at VP/Head level or equivalent.
  • Experience in a public company and controls environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning for the global IT function.

The role serves as the main finance partner to the global technology organization and works closely with the CFO, CIO, and senior IT leaders.The position exists to connect technology spending with business strategy, strengthen financial governance, and improve decision-making across the technology portfolio. It covers planning, budgeting, capital allocation, investment review, cloud financial management, and executive reporting.A major focus of the role is to improve transparency around IT and cloud spend, support sound capital deployment, and ensure technology investments deliver clear business value and return.## Key Responsibilities– Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning for the global IT function. – Partner with the CIO and IT leadership to align spending with strategic priorities and evaluate trade-offs across technology investments. – Serve as the primary finance partner to senior technology leaders, translating initiatives into financial impact, risk, and return expectations. – Analyze run-rate, project, labor, infrastructure, software, and vendor costs, and provide variance analysis with actionable insights on operating and capital spend. – Review and challenge business cases for major IT initiatives, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and system implementations. – Lead FinOps and cloud financial management, with a focus on cost optimization, transparency, CapEx vs. OpEx analysis, cloud economics, unit economics, and ROI. – Oversee IT cost management efforts, including build vs. buy vs. outsource evaluations, benchmarking, cost transparency, and productivity improvements. – Manage financial governance for project funding, benefits tracking, post-implementation reviews, and capital allocation across the technology portfolio. – Oversee capitalization treatment for software development and implementation costs where applicable, and partner with controllership and accounting on policies, controls, depreciation/amortization, and audit documentation. – Support major vendor negotiations, renewals, and contract reviews;
