Job summary

IDEX is seeking a VP Strategy for Fire & Safety to build and lead a best-in-class strategy capability across a global platform. You will guide portfolio choices, where-to-play decisions, and inorganic growth, partnering with BU leaders to embed strategy into execution.

You will define a differentiated Fire & Safety strategy, set governance, metrics, and roadmaps, and drive AI-enabled growth initiatives while shaping the external narrative and internal capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years in strategy, corporate development, general management, commercial strategy, or related leadership roles.
• Experience in industrials, manufacturing, engineered products, mission-critical equipment, safety, emergency response, or complex B2B environments preferred.
• Proven track record developing and executing growth strategies that deliver above-market performance.
• Strong financial and analytical skills linking market insights to business outcomes.
• Experience building or elevating strategy capabilities, processes, teams, or governance models.

Responsibilities

• Define and embed a clear Fire & Safety platform strategy identifying where to play and how to win.
• Partner with BU leaders to align strategic priorities, resources, and execution plans.
• Lead portfolio assessments to identify growth opportunities and adjacencies.
• Identify high-value organic growth opportunities across segments, geographies, and offerings.
• Shape go-to-market strategy, channel priorities, customer segmentation, and differentiated value propositions.
• Strengthen innovation strategy by linking product vitality to market needs and growth priorities.
• Establish governance, KPIs, and value tracking for strategic initiatives and AI-enabled use cases.
• Build market intelligence on Fire & Safety including size, growth, needs, competition and trends.
• Translate strategy into an execution roadmap with clear owners and milestones.
• Ensure initiatives deliver measurable revenue, margin, ROI, and enterprise value.
