Job summary

Palomar Holdings, Inc. is seeking a VP of Statutory Reporting to provide strategic leadership for the statutory reporting function, drive process improvements, and ensure NAIC/state regulatory compliance.

You will lead the statutory close for monthly, quarterly, and annual results, collaborate with Corporate Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Investments, Tax, and Data teams, and manage external audits and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (minimum requirement).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in NAIC insurance filings.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Statutory Reporting function and build a high-performing team.
• Lead the statutory close and reporting processes for monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
• Oversee preparation and submission of NAIC/state regulatory filings and related statements.
• Partner with Corporate Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Investments, Treasury, Tax, and Data teams.
• Provide SME in SSAP and evolving regulatory requirements; implement policies and governance frameworks.
• Lead RBC calculations and related capital reporting; advise on capital adequacy and risk exposures.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
