Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Solution Architect - VP in Whippany, NJ to design, develop, and deploy advanced front-office solutions for Markets Sales. You will guide architecture decisions, implement scalable Java microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven patterns, and collaborate with stakeholders to balance technology risk with business value.

You will contribute to AI-enabled workflows, data-driven decision making, and governance across security and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience designing front-office or Markets tech solutions across Sales workflows and onboarding.
• Knowledge of workflow states, approvals, maker-checker, audits and SLAs.
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms with reusable services and clear migration paths.
• Familiarity with AI patterns: extraction, summarization, semantic search, routing, and human-in-the-loop.
• Ability to explain architecture with diagrams and PoCs; Java microservices and cloud stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver solutions that evolve as products, aligned with business needs.
• Plan workload placement to leverage elasticity, serverless and containerization in the cloud.
• Incorporate security principles and resiliency into architecture designs.
• Balance risk and controls while delivering business and tech value.
