Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineering to lead end-to-end software development in a highly regulated medical device environment. The role will drive governance, scalable development practices and AI-assisted approaches while partnering with leadership to translate technical risk into actionable plans.

Location: Remote – US based candidates only. Compensation: $278,000 – $361,000 annually.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive software engineering leadership experience.
Experience delivering software as a medical device in regulated environments.
Deep knowledge of FDA software regulations and medical device quality systems.
Experience leading complex software products from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end software engineering execution in a regulated medical device environment.
Establish and evolve engineering operating systems and governance frameworks.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering velocity and product quality.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Translate technical concepts and risks into actionable insights for leadership.
Advance software engineering capabilities through scalable CI/CD frameworks and automation tools.
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.
